Energy sharing, sometimes referred to as load balancing or balancing, allows grid operators or businesses with multiple on-site chargers to distribute available energy capacity proportionally to all active EV charging stations. As the available power is limited at each location, more power demand would normally mean costly upgrades to the electricity infrastructure. Smart charging means that energy can be optimally distributed to avoid such improvements.
This is a smart charging feature that prevents you from exceeding the maximum energy capacity of your home, business. Reaching or exceeding your maximum energy capacity is not a good idea. This may mean that your energy provider will charge you extra for using more electricity than planned, especially if you use energy-intensive equipment later in the month.
